Tyrifjorden in Buskerud is Norway's fifth-largest lake (137 km²) and one of its deepest at 295 m. Sitting just over an hour's drive from Oslo, it's famous for big brown trout, arctic char, pike, perch and whitefish. The local strain of trout — the "Tyrifjord-troll" — routinely tops 5–10 kg.

How to fish
